| Meet Camille Pukay
My
own conscious spiritual journey began in June 2006.
Buster, my dog, introduced me to holistic therapies.
Together we explored the concept of energy and how my
behavior/feelings affected him. My health and his were both
in a downward spiral because I was bringing home stress and
he was reacting to it. We both attended our own holistic
doctor and we both ended up taking the exact same herbs!
Amazing!
Within months, I was completely off my meds and his
aggression tendencies did a complete 180 as well.
I then came to the decision of quitting my job to
rediscover my passion. I began reading many spiritual books
to learn what was out there. I came across a book called
Animal Reiki by Kathleen Prasad and Elizabeth Fulton. I
could not put the book down and I was literally covered with
goose bumps the entire time, so in my heart I knew instantly
that I had found my passion but wasn’t sure how I was going
to achieve it. In August 2007, I took an Animal
Communication class and had a reawakening because childhood
memories flooded back as I realized that I had this natural
gift of communicating with animals. I found out the teacher
was also a Reiki Master/Teacher, so two weeks later I took
Reiki I/II to learn how to do Reiki for myself.
Because my two dogs responded to the Reiki instantly, I
wanted to deepen my skills for animals. I soon discovered
that our animals are our true teachers. They know exactly if
they want Reiki, how long they want it, and where they want
it.
In December 2007, I completed a five week on-line
correspondence course with Animal Reiki Source. In February
2008, I flew to California to begin a three-month Animal
Reiki Internship with Kathleen Prasad. I absolutely loved,
loved, loved my internship experience! I completed 25
studies and did 20 more just to continue my learning! I
became a Certified Animal Reiki Practitioner but have found
that I want to teach as well.
I began volunteering with rescue horses in August 2008 at
River Bluff Rescue Ranch. My first experience with Moose, a
horse, was simply amazing. He backed into me to have one
hand placed on his left hind and one hand directly on his
tailbone. He went into a deep relaxation and sighed very
deeply. After 20 minutes of receiving Reiki in this
position, he turned around and we stood nose to nose as we
thanked each other for the experience.
In September 2008, I was asked to become one of the
founding members of Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA).
Our goal is to create a database to show how Reiki helps
shelter animals as well as to educate others about Animal
Reiki.
In
November 2008, I flew back to California to complete my
Reiki III and Animal Reiki Teacher Training with Kathleen
Prasad. I am now a Certified Animal Reiki Practitioner and
Teacher. I am very excited to be able to share and teach my
passion of Animal Reiki and to show others how to be
successful with their own animals. My ultimate dream is to
create and live on a Reiki Farm in the Midwest with an
assortment of animals so people may come and stay as a
mini-retreat as well as learning Reiki for themselves and
their animals.
Most of all, I thank my dear Buster for beginning my
journey. Even though, he made his transition on January 2,
2009, he continues to live in my heart. I am forever
grateful and humbled from his teachings.
Divine Blessings,
Camille
